Stopped by a favorite spot today on my way home from finding some basalt camp tools, nice landmark on the Sangre de Christo mtns. Archeologic studies of the area show that transitional to early archaic repopulation of the area used basalt as a predominant lithic source, finding it in camps is great feeling of knowing it's a super old spot. The broke mano is very cool, broke edge shows secondary work. Two other hammer/grinder/cutter tools make for a positive id of sight.
