  • Scungilli for dinner

Hi all. Do any of you like scungilli? It’s always been a favorite of mine. You can buy it in cans but I prefer to catch my own. Another delicious gift from the sea.

Can't say I've ever had it, but it's got grated Parmesan, so I'd try it.

Most good wet markets in Hong Kong have live scungilli from the east coast of the US/Canada when they are in export season.

Too darned tasty for their own good.
      Hong Kong, but from Indiana/Florida

Was delicious. I make it mild for others to enjoy but I like to spice mine up with some Sriracha or pepper flakes.

Yea same recipes work for both. I’ve made conch chowder with them using my mothers recipe from the Florida keys.

Pass, I'll take a 🍔 lol. Then again I'm all about trying new things but don't have any of those in the local pasture. If you want a Japanese beetle kabob I can hook you up

Looks just like the Atlantic Whelk we have here. When im out digging quahogs if i come across one, if its a decent size, it goes into the pot with the rest of the days haul. I like em just boiled with some lemon juice over em.
