Earliest Human Footprints in Europe
This is pretty close to where I used to live and now represents the oldest known habitation site in Britain. Wish I was still close enough to do some more beach-combing and cliff-hunting, although I visit from time to time since my mother still lives in the area. They keep pushing the date further and further back as more finds are made:
Scientists believe these footprints, found in Happisburgh, are direct evidence of the earliest known humans in northern Europe.
