These are Chris's pictures and this is what he said about the find.
3 years ago I began looking for artifacts. Over those years I have found 3 full arrowheads, about a dozen pieces that were close to full and hundreds of flakes. I have spent many hours walking plowed fields after rains and checking river gravel bars. Never ever dreamed of finding an axe head. Then I find this while turkey hunting.
Dieing to find out any info on this piece I found in a field while out turkey hunting. Approximate age. Cultures that may have produced it, what they used it for etc
Thanks,
Chris aka celceb

Groove Channel 3/4 grooved axe. What state did you find it in? There is a diagram of a similar axe form in the Lar Hotham Book "Indian Axes & related stone artifacts."on pg 50!Last edited by Hoss; 04-26-2016, 08:12 PM.TN formerly CT Visit our store http://stores.arrowheads.com/store.p...m-Trading-Post
