Could you please give us a little more info. Did you find it? Purchase it? Perhaps rinse it off and take a few pictures in natural light.

found by me. Will not let me download any more photos. Keeps giving me message "Image thumbnail creation failed from JPEG."

These are Chris's pictures and this is what he said about the find.

3 years ago I began looking for artifacts. Over those years I have found 3 full arrowheads, about a dozen pieces that were close to full and hundreds of flakes. I have spent many hours walking plowed fields after rains and checking river gravel bars. Never ever dreamed of finding an axe head. Then I find this while turkey hunting.

Dieing to find out any info on this piece I found in a field while out turkey hunting. Approximate age. Cultures that may have produced it, what they used it for etc

                Thanks,

That is a really nice find. I wonder why the one edge is concave?

Groove Channel 3/4 grooved axe. What state did you find it in? There is a diagram of a similar axe form in the Lar Hotham Book "Indian Axes & related stone artifacts."on pg 50!

Isn't the groove a place that something can be wedged in to tighten it up on the handle? I thought I read that
