This is one of my fav stone tool pieces. From what ive learned on the net , its orange quartzite hand ax. Ive found so many stone tools this year its UNBELIEVABLE !! An epic year !! I found another similar ax but it was a nearly perfect round / discoidal. During a momentary lapse of reason I put it down because I was hunting only definate points. Wasn't keen on stone tools. Anyway I could never find it. I think another lucky hunter picked it. Opinions ? What would one value this item ? P.S. I believe the maker/user was left handed ( coulda been hafted ) because it fits the left hand ergonomically.

The net is hard to pull good info from. There are thousands of threads here where information is discussed and validated which can really help you understand stuff you find better. Not to sound harsh, but that's not a hand axe. It might be a flake, but we would need a quarter in the picture for scale. Usually artifacts will have 1 or more sharp sides, not always but usually.

I’m thinking flake or used up core, but like David said, we have no idea how big this is.
