  • Need some help on this point

    Another "what is this?" from my friends inherited collection, likely Iowa/Missouri. The tip has been reworked. It's heavy, so maybe a knife? And does it look authentic? Thank you.

            The material looks like mozarkite from the Missouri area. Cool piece!

              Looks kind of buck creek...but maybe the type is out of area?

                Thank you for all your input on this! I think Mozarkite is a real possibility. I hadn't considered buck creek, but you are right, this piece could have originated farther away. So I am thinking buck creek, kampsville, Adena Robins, or stone square stem. That may be as close as I get to knowing for sure. I'm still pretty new at identification, so appreciate all help and input.
