I know its a broken banner stone but the patina is different on one side making me wonder if it had been turned into a pendant.

Broken butterfly banner stone. Could it have been refused as a pendant?

In my honest opinion the hole is an attempt to salvage. It broke and they had both halves. Drilled a hole on both sides and tie it back on the atlatl to continue the hunt.Last edited by Hoss; 11-01-2022, 02:34 PM.TN formerly CT Visit our store http://stores.arrowheads.com/store.p...m-Trading-Post

The difference in patina is because it probably laid exposed on one side for a very long time. I have a Hamilton point that I found that has an extreme difference in patina from one side to the other. I also have two pieces of a broken gorget or banner stone preform that the two parts have much different patina.
