I would like to send this to a very reputable "COA" I want to sell it and I think it will sell better if it has a certificate. Can anyone recommend somebody good. Thank you!

The patina on it looks suspicious chalk. Post the other side please. I'm not saying it's a fake at all but I have seen patina similar to that on fakes. That is a very nice blade and I have seen several of that size and they are very pricy. Kim

Thanks Matten. I agree on the patina thing. I know pretty good on the fake stuff but this one has me confused. The flaking says absolutely real. The person that knapped this was a real pro, be it indian or modern. Maybe some knucklehead did something with the surface. It has no odd smell to it and is absolutely flint. By far the largest I have ever seen. If authentic it's a one of a kind. Extremely well made. Hoss gave me some names of Coa's to contact and I will do that. Thank you for your input.

Dwain Rogers is probably your best bet for that area.
Here is a link to what some folks had to say about him on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/DiggingTexa...4104737351493/

Dwain is not on the internet and prefers phone calls. Call and he will let you know how to proceed.

Jerry Dickey, Tennessee is one of the best in my opinion. I live in TN so anything from the south eastern states I would send him. I have met and talked with Jerry many times. A good man.

Jim Bennett, Ohio also top shelf. I took his course on authentication many years ago. He has published three books on the subject of authentication and numerous articles.
He is owner at Premier artifact auctions.

All three of these have been doing authentication for a very long time and are respected in the hobby.
