  • Is this real or fake

A friend of mine sent me this and wanted to know if it was real or fake. She does not know where it was found. The AH is very large. I know you cannot tell by the picture but it is approx. 3" long. Any thoughts?

Looks like a well used authentic point to me. The base area reminds me of arena but it may be much older.

Thanks for your thoughts, it is just the size of it makes it seem a bit strange!

Kari, I moved you post to Artifact Questions -and- Answers.
I see nothing to say it is a fake. Looks real to me.
Look to the ground for it holds the past!

Looks authentic to me too, most fakes look to good to be true. Nice real point.

I see what your saying, probably a knife or projectile point though not shot from a bow. Its the shape that's strange to me though I found a point that looks similar, will post pic when I find it. It may have been made a bit crude but maybe damage shaped a bit also? Neat Artifact.

I agree that nothing screams fake. At 3 inches it is probably a reworked knife form.

Like the others I do agree.
Looks so black!!! Almost charcoal it's so black.

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.

Hey Kari, that point looks good to me as well. I am not familiar with the material! Get your garden plowed up and find ya some more!
