Buried Bone
Found this in a wash in the Texas Panhandle.

Bison.
Bone material that has obvious signs of impact fracturing is a good thing.
Your specimen was what was left of a meal.
I can't tell if it fell victim to animal predation or was taken by human and butchered.
I personally have never found an intact leg bone in context of a habitat.
Always broken open to access the marrow.

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.
