  • Just some rocks in my pile

Since I did not find anything this weekend I thought I would share some other random rocks I've acquired.  The trilobite is a purchase I made in 4th grade for $20 bucks lol.  It was worth my allowance then and I still enjoy it haha.  The triton shell is a purchase from my honeymoon in Jamaica.  I am a beach bum and always look for shells.  Glad it made it through customs.  The third pic is a river find.  I think it is petrified wood but I'm not sure.  Also on the trilobite what are those scratch marks?  I've always wondered.  Anyways thanks for looking guys

Your question on the Trilobite, these are collected in Morocco and taken home for the family
to sit around and carve them out of the matrix with "of all things" a nail and small hammer.
That my friend is what the markings are. "Nail tracks"
I gives them a look of natural cracking.

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.
