Thanks guys. Never occurred to me. That is the end phalange bone. I have one from a terminal archaic site in CT only difference is mine is the second bone. According to Willaim Ritchie former Archaeologist for NY state the second bone was perforated in some instances by Late archaic peoples. I have read studies that also say the second bone was used to make bone fish hooks. I looked at some web pics and you guys pretty much nailed it. Learn something new ever day.
I hope this link works it is my find from years ago. Like I said this is the second bone the one pictures earlier would have attached to this one at the knuckle.
