  • Bone, tooth or shell?

I posted this as part of a vineyard hunt assemblage last week.

I'm still not sure what it is.

It's find in association with numerous chips at a work site allows me to believe it's an artifact.

It has the feel of stone so may be fossil.

Would love some help figuring out what it is.

It looks like Bone maybe Antler. From pic-It has that cellular porous look to it that most rock does not have. What’s length on it?

      It's 36 mm long. Weighs 4.1 grams.

      Chinks against teeth like stone.

Could it be an artifact - like an ornament?

It was found amongst debitage at a site.

I'm thinking it's a piece of natural water smoothed quartz: what does it look like when held up to the light?

Interesting, I’d up picked it up too, and brought it home. Reminds me of a carnivore tooth, not saying of course that is what it is....

I guess it could be quartz though it's completely opaque.

            I really don't know....

            Goes into mystery box.
