  • Any idea what causd this???

Found this small rock in my driveway this  afternoon, an I was wondering what caused this design on one side of it? I tried looking it up without any success, would any of you, who have more knowledge than me know anything about it?

Yes... it's a chunk of fossilized tabulate coral. Hexagonaria or similar genus. Like the material found in Michigan known as "Petoskey Stone".
I keep six honest serving-men (they taught me all I knew); Their names are What and Why and When and How and Where and Who.

          Roger got it.
          Nice handle specimen.
          Small and detailed.
          Where there's one..........

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.
