  • Most recent Ammonoids

Two Saturdays back to back yielded a lot of stuff.
Most of which I will not post they are not cleaned up and ready for show.
There is one in there, the one that looks like an earthworm on a rock, found last weekend.
Most all were near encased in stone. Took a while to work them out.
If you are interested in knowing the names let me know here.
It's getting pretty warm and it takes a lot of rain there to make things happen.

      Enjoy and let me know.

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.

Jess, I absolutely love your posts. Fossils are a favorite thing of mine although I really know very little. Please impart any and all knowledge you wish.

                    Pic # two
                    12clock - Metoicoceras
                    3 -and- 6 o'clock - Worthoceras
                    9 o'clock - Carlilensis "I think pluroceptus"
Jury still out on that one.
                    Yeah some do resemble wormies.
One at 3 o'clock is even earthworm colored.
The first is pretty obvious in the pic and the rest are of metoicoceras.

Fossils are so cool. Oldest thing of history you can find. I need to start hunting for those too.
