Saturday, July 20,2013, Bone2Stone (Jessy Boedecker) took me out to his site in PaloPinto County, Texas. This site is know for some of THE BEST Preserved fossils from the Pennsylvanian (c. 300 mya) period. It was HOT!!! Like 100 degrees!!! But man did we have fun!! Was a total thrill for me, as well as an honor to follow Jessy on another adventure!!!

The material we're looking at:
We were out for the prize...Trilobites...I only found bits and pieces..
Still need to do some more cleaning on this one:
But the best find I made was this Otodous Tooth. It's an early shark. According to Jessy, they are very rare in these parts. He said he's only seen one other specimen come from this site in the 20 years he's been hunting.
Here are some various snails. Jessy, I'm sure, can elaborate on their types.
Some of my favorites to find were these horn corals. I actually grown these types of corals in my salt water fish tank today!! This is an excellent specimen!!
Some pieces of Goniatites that I'm working on....the one on the left kind of gives you an idea of the material I have to shuck in order to get a good looking specimen:
Not sure what this is...Interesting little pentagon shaped thing. Jessy??
These are maybe 5% of everything I collected that day. When I get more cleaned up and if they're better specimens or special finds...I'll continue to post here.
