  • Heart full of fossils

These beautiful fossils were a gift to me from Bone2Stone (Jessy) for picking up the goodies he sent to the Arkansas get together. Thank you Jessy for being the amazing person that you are. I will cherish these and display them always. I have never seen a heart quiet like this. I am proud to have you as my friend.

I could not get this pic to flip the direction i wanted it.

Well Cric, I see you finally got a round tuit.
I'm sure someone will move the post for you.
I would suggest it go in the Murfreesboro thread, or fossil link.
The specimen is referred to as a "hash-plate".
It is the remains of meals where a creature disposed of the leftovers.
The straight one is a cephalopod called a baculite.
There are three scaphites, cephalopods, on there.
(The big one top left, is a good one) "Worthoceras"
It is most likely near complete which would make this specimen a rarity.
The other two are, one near complete and an impression.
Only one small clam on there that I could make out.
That may be the only one on there that was not a meal at the time.
Got trapped in the mixture and died there.
The rest are snails, particular names I could only speculate on.
All are replaced with calcite crystal and casts are siltstone.
This particular stone was found in the same locality that I took
Cat to on her first intentional fossil hunt.
Hope you enjoy this specimen and treasure it as I'm sure you will.
Oh and again you are welcome.
        Jess B.
It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.
