    From a 1936 article, "The Hingham Red Felsite Boulder Train" comes this description of this colorful felsite. Hingham is located a short distance SE of Boston, Ma.

    Being quite a distance from the source, we have not come across it that frequently. But it does jump out at you compared to most of our local/regional lithics. I've shown this first point before; one of our favorites.

            Thanks, Gsry. That's probably a Dudley variety of a Transitional Archaic Mansion Inn Blade.
          And I've always called it "the owl point"
