  • Help with material Id

Hello. I was hoping to get some help with material ID. I found this stone on a trip in stonington Maine. I was thinking it is Ramah chert because I read there might be some ramah chert in Maine. Any ideas?

Hard to tell from these photos . Is it translucent? Ramah was traded down the coast from its source we found a couple woodland triangles in CT that were dark grey like that but the stone has a waxy feel to it. Some quartzites resemble it. It is easier to determine in hand.

ramah chert looks like a fine grained quartzite. It has been traded down to coast to Maryland from Labrador and New Foundland during woodland time period. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/...ig16_311800701
It runs from white to grey to black. A highly prized lithic material. When I commented earlier I was looking on my mobile device looking now from my PC I feel you do have a nice piece of Ramaha chert.
