  • small new frame

i put together a small frame with some of my better scrapers, flake blades and utilized flakes
this is the only piece (as far as i can tell) of heat-treated stone, pretty sure its jasper, im told it was once yellow like my other jasper things, and at the break you can see a mustardy color change.

utilized as a thumbscraper or flake blade, you can clearly see the small secondary flaking

this is one of my favorite finds, not to sure what to call it,its worked with large flakes all the way around, really cool material, not sure what kind either,im thinking its a stemless knife, probably woodland period.

Nice Toolbox Jay. And the tools are very nice. I know that the one in the
center of the second row is your favorite but there are some other nice
ones in there too. I like that big tan scraper bottom left. Thanks for showing.

Nice Frame Jay! Out in Colorado the color spectrum of the chert, in the reds, tans and browns all are natural, and run through the quarries. it is not uncommon to find a yellow point with a red tip, or marbling of the lithic.
              Thanks Great tools.

Nice looking frame Jay! I think you are going to need a bigger frame soon though. A good tool collection is an asset to any collection.
