OK, I think I got it. Sorry for being a pain in the $$%&**( !!!! I'm old and technology isn't my strong suit. Anyway, can anyone identify this gem point? It's from Oklahoma, I scoped it and it's 100% authentic. I just can't find any points in any of my reference books that show the intentional e-notched base. It reminds me of some Spiro Mound points, but I never saw one with a base and notches like this. Maybe just a varient of a known type?

I've owned a lot of old points from Spiro over the years, and that doesn't match any that I have handled or had.
It's your point and I haven't seen it under a scope, but it doesn't look like any authentic point I've seen.Hong Kong, but from Indiana/Florida

Neat looking mississippian point! Looks something like a cross between a cahokia point and a harrell point.

This point is loaded with natural deposits, even after washing, the iron deposits are still there. I don't think it's from the Spiro Mound, only similar to some of the serrated points found there. Because it can't be typed, or there aren't any similar points in reference books, that doesn't make it not authentic. I would even take the time to send it to you for inspection. ( If you promise to send it back ) It's a gorgeous little gem point, and I have examined very carefully. It's 7/8 in. Maybe it just falls into the class of exotics.

Thanks PK but I can't put a positive date on it from looking at it to be honest, don't have a carbon date contraption here anyway lol.
Maybe the iron is from hematite or iron ore in area or maybe even farm machinery? Looks like you got the photo thing figured out.

Well, yep, at least I know how to post a photo!! I would welcome another experienced opinion. Not a known authenticator due to the events around three fake bannerstones that were papered by three of the top authenticators. But an experienced opinion from someone on this forum. If anyone wants to check it out, I'll send it along with return postage money. The point is for sale, and I guarantee everything after I examine it. But I could also be wrong, and I don't want to sell a modern point. Is anyone interested in looking at it up close with a good scope?
