      Its a flow banded Rhyolite. It's broken and shows its original color where broken of dark black. The bands show up after years of exposure to the elements.

    This is Nethers flint, heat treated, found in Fairfiled County, Ohio years ago. In good light, the purple is very glossy. I think this one was definitely knapped to highlight the lightning streak.
