  • Dunes - 9/22/2021

A cool front came through yesterday with 25 MPH winds. I hit the dunes hard for 8 hours today. The blowouts looked different with the crusty layer covering a larger area than usual. Found a variety of stuff including a finely serrated Harrell arrow point, my first. Some brokes. A hammer stone, some broke blade tips, and a core struck blade. Also a funky looking double barreled red clay something. Pipe bowl, pot leg? Need help on that one. Thanks.

Here you go GarGuy. I’m thinking a uniface blade tip. Also a side shot of the Harrell - super thin. Yes, I’m surprised so much of it survived.

The Harrell is Edwards Plateau “Honey” Chert.

Well the item I asked about is just a utilized flake I guess. I thought I could see work along the edges. Thanks.
