  • San Patrice and unusual point

    These two found by my son while digging at our East Texas site very near each other. The San Patrice variant is transitional Paleo to Early Archaic 10,000 to 8000 BP. Had some issues classifying the point with the long thin stem.

    The one with the long stem looks like a knife. The one you are calling a SanPatrice looks like a Hardaway to me. Very nice finds. 😊

      Very nice sanpatrice. The other is hard to say. No doubt reworked. It's old though. Imported material here means early archaic or older. Probably a Wells variant.

        Nice San Pat! I agree with Wells variant on the other... The knobbed Stem is unusual for around here. Maybe due to being reworked like Gar mentioned.
