Finally the Depot Museum has reopened here in Sonoma so went over to check out my mentor’s collection. I had seen all these prior to him loaning these artifacts to the museum but that was some years ago now during a time when he was advising me on my finds etc. Of note would be the few perfect Stocktons and the flat based five sided point… only ever seen one other of those in a Napa collection and it had serrations identical to your basic stockton point. That bowl was worked through as they often were and they have it upside down to show that aspect of it… kinda cool.

Hey Matt, that's a very nice collection.
Really like the small white chalcedony (with green spots?) concave base. White chert with hafting residue is awesome. Great Stocktons and leaf points too. The five sider might be a Mostin Pentagonal (which are pretty old and rare). California

It seems the type didn’t make it up into the hills even though Miwok(Inland) were making them not too far from the Sierra foothills. Probably has to do with the availability of the easier to work obsidian. Up in your area they mastered basalt and quartz among other lithics. Interesting to think about.
