  • West Texas Early Triangular

I do love a well made Triangle point. That's a good thing, because they always find me.
This one was found at the famous Wilson County Sandpit, which is a well documented paleo location.
Thru the years I've been fortunate to have attended many screen digs on several of the adjoining properties of this famous location.
Many of the surviving artifacts from this area have a distinct sand polish from thousands of years in the Cibolo Creek Drainage. There also seems to be a higher percentage of complete points due to the lack of rocks in the sand.
I found this Gouge at a screen dig at a ranch near the sandpit a few weeks ago. Click image for larger version

I really like those Early Triangular points. Found one at my place a couple of years ago. That's a nice example you have there.
