we found this at a “quarry” site that was used from archaic through contact period. Indians had to travel out of the delta to the hills to find rocks This place was really just a gravel pit where they would sit and knock out preforms to carry back home and finish. They camped here so there were fire and trash pits scattered all around. This was a big flake with some cortex left on it and was fairly thick in the middle but still surprisingly sharp from the tip to the thick part. It was probably just a quickly knocked out tool for camp use.
