    Always hard to tell with these.
    if found on a site near or with other artifacts… I’d say gameball… others may suggest bolo stone or eggstone

      It all depends on where you found it. On site like North said would put in a prabability. K

        An in-focus picture would help in better identifying this object.

        I have a few Stone (French) Cannonballs I found in New York in the Mid 70's around Fort Stanwix/Mohawk River area that resemble the one pictured but cant say they made it that far West...

          Most of the ones that have been found, that I have personal knowledge of, have been found around early pioneer settlements. And if that's the case, then you can't rule out tumble media used to process corn meal and the like.

          But on the other hand, I have heard that if found on a site, then some kind of NA artifact is possible, or maybe even used for shot like has been mentioned.
