Possible... I wouldnt say that those are flutes, looks like percusion flaking to me

Nice knife but way out of the distribution area for North if you found it in Montana. North is, although generally a finished piece, considered to be a preform for Hopewell Snyders. Cheesey is right about the flutes. Those are basal thinning strikes.
