  • Fluted Yadkin or Dalton?

I've found a few Yadkins and Daltons but this particular point has baffled Dr. Randy Daniel and myself.
At first glance it appears to be a nice Yadkin. Upon closer inspection, it exhibits a nice flute on one face, and basal thinning on the reverse indicative of Dalton. It measures 62.11mm L  x 36.37mm W x 6.88mm thk. and is made of rhyolite. I'd like some opinions on this piece, please.

I would call it a very nice first-stage Yadkin. It is not unusual to see them basally thinned, and it has no hafting area or resharpening as it would have if it were a later-stage Dalton.

Sweet looking point. I am not a pro on North Carolina Typology. Just wanted to say nice point Truett thanks for the show.

That's a Beauty! Here's one I thought was Yadkin till I cleaned the mud off. Found a few Hardaway daltons in the same spot in Chester S.C.
