Beaded Large Pin Cushion Mohawk?

I picked this up today out on a house call for coins. The lady told me it was Native American made by someone her grandmother knew. I looked them up on eBay, they don't bring a lot but several listed as Native American, Mohawk or Iroquois. It is a bird and floral design. Has some bead loss around the edges. Probably late 1800's. It is straw filled so may go back a bit earlier. Forgot my ruler, 8 1/2" across. Neat old piece, some octagon beads in the design. Just thought I would share as I wouldn't have thought Native American if the lady didn't tell me. I have had Pin Cushions before but not beaded. Compared to the beads on a Girls shirt I have they are not as brilliant in color.
