These are from the Tick Island shell middens on the St. John’s river, Florida. A fiber tempered site.. The young child gathered the clay, molded the pots and eagerly waited till the coals cooled. The teacher gave approval. Those must’ve been happy days indeed but not for very long, for soon the young potter would be the teacher...Pic.4 has some interesting markings on the right side.. Pic.6 has a tiny smear mark and small lumps of clay that must have been too dry to smear. Thanks for lookin folks
