  • Heads Up, Texans….

Well, actually eyes to the ground. A few days ago, an estimated 1000 lb. meteor exploded over south Texas, and pieces reached the ground. Apparently near McAllen. The map shows the estimated strewn field…Bet there are quite a few people looking. Get out there if you can….

NASA experts believe the space rock that was about 2 feet wide and 1,000 pounds hit that hit the ground Wednesday near McAllen, Texas.

Large specimen recovered by well known meteorite hunter Robert Ward in Texas. Great reports and photos of all three falls. Wonder how many stones have been/will be found, in Texas….

For astronomers who did not know how to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tcheliabinsk event, sky deserves the best celebration we could even imagine! From February 13th, to 15th, 3 meteorite-dropper fireballs occured over France, Italy and Texas... and meteorites were recovered! Let's celebrate! If you witnessed one of the mentioned events and/or if you have…

Yes, see the article and photos I posted. I have not been in contact with any hunters, but I posted this thread should any artifact surface hunters from Texas be within reasonable driving distance of the strewn field. It’s a stone meteorite, meaning it won’t be difficult to spot, if you spot rocks with dark crust, black fusion crust. It’s a treasure hunt, some good $$ if you find any…..

Yes, that one they actually spotted before it hit our atmosphere, and they were able to predict when and where it would appear…
