  • One Very Convincing Fake

This is something I found today while hunting and I knew as soon as I picked it up that it was a fake because of the material. This is a beach find. Its made out of an Argillite and if it was anything, it would have been very weathered. I just figured it was worth a share for a laugh. It did get the heart beating good for a second!

I don’t believe that’s our New England Argillite….here are some argillite points from RI, probably Barrington argillite….

As a kid I was brought up calling it shale. Whatever the material is, It is the common sedimentary rock that is everywhere up here that covers the beach.
