Hi all. I had a great surprise today. Finished a job I’ve been working on for the last couple months, keeping me out of the hunt. So I treated myself to a hunt. I have about a dozen sites within walking distance from my front door. All have been pretty much hunted out. But I still find something. I found the base of a Jasper knife. Nothing great. Got home put it on the table, drank a cup of coffee. Pulled out the box for that site and looked through it. Low and behold there was the other half of that knife. Now this hasn’t happened to me very often. To complete a broken piece is a great thing as far as I am concerned. And now I can post a find for today! Kim

Very nice to keep the broken ones by fields in separate bowls. I do the same and every once in a while I have gotten lucky myself. I think when the disc hits them one piece stays put pretty much and the other half can go 20 ft or more away from the other half. Its always exciting when the 2 connect.

Cool. I agree, if anything, realizing you can match it up is more exciting than finding it whole in the first place. First time I did that it was a full 10 years to the week, yet I knew instantly I had the match at home.

Amazing! So, did the damage occur in modern times?

Two halves make a whole. I found a large hixton
sugar quartz knife. Found in three separate pieces
6-8 years apart. Would have been one of my better
finds, if it was unbroken and not glued. Keep on the hunt...✌️

You know I forgot to look, give me a sec------yes the broken edges are pretty sharp so it had to be Narrow Way. I'm guessing it has been 8 years since I found the tip.

Either way, amazing find! Maybe less patina in the break area would be another clue.
