    Need help identifying please. Found on private land in Northeast Mississippi. My first post, glad to have signed up and look forward to learning from everyone

    Nice point and find, but as others will tell you, value isn’t discussed on the forum. There are a ton of folks who will give expert information, though, so you’re in the right place to find out age and type.

                  I’m still unable to verify this point. It favors a pine tree but I’m just not sure. Anyone else have any ideas?

                          Hi poundpup. I just now saw your thread. From the photos provided it looks to me like a Kirk Corner Notch. Definitely not a Jacks Reef. My old hunting grounds along the Tenn. River valley in north Alabama are fairly close to you and similar types can be found in both areas. I could ask more questions and ask for more photos to be 100% positive but I feel comfortable enough with the 2 pics to call it a Kirk. They are an early Archaic type so one does not find them as frequently as other types that were made more recently. I found 40 Kirks of various sub types, i6 were Kirk CN.
