  • A Florida Limestone Pendant

    From the Homasassa river, Florida..This lobbed pendant is made from lime stone...B&W photo is one of several shell carvings from the Mississippian period ..At least a few of this type were used in this manner

      You wouldn't want to go jogging with that piece around your neck.

      But good eye in spotting that, it explains why so many of those are so well made.
