    Hey all......found this yesterday on a site I've been hunting past few weeks......I'm thinking Kirk, but if you have other opinions, let me know.......nw middle tn find.......thanks for looking

    Interesting peice! Looks like those are intentional notches and the upper notch was dinged out on the one side.

            The base seems a little off for a Kirk, but I think that’s the closest it resembles that I can think of. Sure is an interesting piece. 🙂

            reminds me of the Duran(s) found in West Texas and beyond although Tennessee is way outside its distribution range... Congrats on your rescue!

              Stunning point, Kirk is one of my favorite types. I have never seen one quite like that one. Nonetheless it is a beautiful point

                Interesting point, my gut is telling me Hamilton stemmed type. I used to own an example from west TN that also had some oddly placed exaggerated notches. The base width to length ratio and notch angle look spot on for that late Woodland-Missisipian type, moreso than what I've seen with the Kirk variants.
