Is this a pecking stone?

Hello , sorry about the pics they were taken before work in the truck. I found this in a field in will county Illinois and I thought it was a piece of debatige because I find a lot of flakes around the area





before closer inspection. I think it shows signs of being worked to form a point and has a lot of polish on it and fits perfectly in hand. Looking at pics I thing I found a small hammer or pecking stone. What do you guys think?

With closer inspection I can see at least 10 percussion strikes that made it into a point.

Well I'm assuming it is a hammer  pecking stone with the amount of work making it into a point the polish on it from use and the amount of flakes found   in close proximity.
