  • Sweet Missouri blade!

Visited a friend today. He is an avid hunter. He wanted to show me what he found recently and it blew my mind when he pulled it out. It was found in Henry County Missouri in a small ditch. No other points or flakes were found nearby. Was wondering about the type. It is made of Burlington chert I do believe. About 3.5 inches long.

Wow, that is gorgeous flaking!!! hmy:
I'm sure others will be more definitive but it looks early to me; even without a flute.  Is the base ground?

          Wow that's a beautiful blade!
Immediately reminded me of this Dalton dubbed the "z flaked Dalton". I believe this piece exhibits some of the same flaking. Here's that link

That's a stunning Missouri Dalton!  Thanks for showing it!

Forget the west coast,  lets go south to Missouri.    That's a beauty.

Wow! The Z flakes Dalton was found one County to the east of me. About 25 miles away. Had never seen it before. Thanks for the link KY flintguy. The possibilities are endless. The point I posted was found about 45 miles west of where the Z flaked was found. :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:
