3 sided point or not?

Found this little feller a few months back and came across a smaller identical one of same material. One side of the larger end is concave and fits perfectly on a pencil. I am bumfuzzled as to what they are or maybe nothing at all. Any suggestions   or info will really help. My guess is that these are just waste flakes from the knapping process.

either a waste flake or a piece of a shattered point.

I agree, it is too thick and would have been worked further if it was a point.
