        Is it snapped on one end? Looks to be the working end of a drill like tool to me.

            Not quite sure why you think it couldn't be a drill type tool Chase, looks like the snapped end of one to me. Of course sometimes highly exhausted tools like these serve other purposes such as reamers, perforators, punches etc. Looking at the tip of the tool in this thread the wear looks consistent with other drills I have and have seen. The base appears to be missing on this piece but I think drill like tool would be as good a suggestion as any. http://www.projectilepoints.net/Points/Drill.html
