Hello All,
I live in Hempstead Texas. Not to far from Edwards Plateau.
Found this while I was clearing some trees in my woods. It measures about 2.5” long, 2” wide and 1” in the widest part.
Could it possibly be a scraper?
I welcome and appreciate all opinions.
Looks like it has been worked for sure. Could have been utilized as an expedient tool but it isn't what I'd call a scraper, at least not any of the recognized classic forms anyway. It looks to me to be a core reduction piece that had a few flakes removed
You're welcome. If you can get in to any creeks, washes, or fields around where you are, there is a good chance of pulling points. If you have pieces like that on your land, there are bound to be points nearby.
Thanks Arrow,
I live on 78 acres, mostly fields and there is a wash that runs through the woods. ( that’s where I found this) I also have a friend down the road that has a ranch with a creek on it.
I know what I’ll be doing this weekend.
Sounds like your free time is now booked up. I personally like hunting farm fields. Creeks can be time consuming and tough to hunt but they can have big payoffs.
