I found this blade this afternoon in a plowed field here in Muskingum County and was wondering if anyone has an idea as to what type it may be

Any beveling to the oposing blade edges?

I think it's an unnotched blank for a finished blade, could easily be Dovetail. It's Upper Mercer material. Of all the Doves in the Ohio survey, most are Flint Ridge, but there are a percentage that are UM. There are four recorded for Muskingum County, three are FR and one UM ( Jefferson Township). It's a beautiful blade, and I'd be scouring the area for more.

I've walked fields and come up on sections loaded with flakes....I'd hunt that area good, bound to me more artifacts....everytime it rains will see increase your chances....looks like a decent size area to hunt too
