  • Need a Texas history buff for this one

    Decided to throw something different in the mix. I found this while looking for points the other day. Made of cast iron. Found in sterling county, tx near north concho river. Dome shaped and put together in three sections.

    More than likely part of an old wood burning stove or cook stove.

        not sure on what but on when id say late 1800's to early 1900's prob just from the bolt and nut

            I think Doug hit this one on the head!  I was out deer shed hunting when I found this old modified cast iron bed frame.  It looks like someone made a fire wood sled back in the day and left it up on the mountain.  It was far from any roads or structures, and I'm not sure what the heck it was up 500 feet from the valley floor.  I really liked the caps on this piece, and I took a close up of it.  Looks very similar.  I'd say early 1900's cast iron piece, probably from a post or corner piece.
