  • Need help on type for this nice piece.

    Can anyone help me with identification for this point? It is made from coshocton and found in Western PA. it belongs to a friend of mine. I was thinking adena stem, but the barbs on both sides are what I am not sure about, if maybe it might actually be older than that.
    Thanks for any help. I told him the author Lar Hothem would be smiling, it is a beautiful piece. One I know he would of loved to see.

    I don't really know typology from your area but I would say not Adena. As you said, probably a little older. Lar was a fine man, I had the opportunity to talk to him a couple of times.

      hard to see the base and notches. some adena had barbs like they are a cross of hopewell. the flaking looks random. I dont think its any older. jmo  nice one  thanks for showing it
