I feel like these are some type of worked tools. Can someone help with their identification? Found in a huge agate field in Southern Utah.

    Thanks!

Looks like they could have been worked on. Leaning towards cores but the one with what looks like a rounded "stem" might be a broken preform.

Definitely worked, definitely artifacts. Think maybe preforms.

Thanks, for your help. I think I am improving my skills to identify worked artifact pieces with everyone's help.

They were touched by ancients, but spalls or cull.
            Discarded preform.
I knew I had kept something like that before. This can be easily
picked up and used to do just about anything. Cut , scrape , shape...
Locale where found would say waste from a quarry site.

              Reflector,
Thanks for the information. A quarry site fits with the area perfectly. There's a ton of lithic material everywhere over many, many acres. Lots of discarded preform.

Its funny. This topic reminds me of a study the UF did with a couple undergrads where the 2 were in the
woods for I think 3 or 6 months . They only used chert and wood bone to exist.
After the time , debitage was collected and measured. Then multiplied for a village populations
and lifetime considered. You could kinda get the idea how long an ancient site was occupied. What the concentration
of the work being performed. Knapping, meat processing , occupation.......

                  Reflector,
I often wonder about the concentration of the work being performed. That is great information on this topic. Thanks for sharing.
