    Upper Mercer/Coshocton Chert ( Ohio )
Deposits come in many forms, including nodules, single beds, and thick, multilayered sheets.
Found from Hocking County Ohio to Coshocton County, Ohio, near Warsaw. Its colors are commonly black or gray. Some blacks have streaks of white quartz running through them which resemble lightning bolts. Depending on the depositional process, a wide range of quality can be noted. As the chert itself becomes denser, a higher quality can be expected.
Most Coshocton gray flint appears waxy with darker or lighter striations.
