  • investigating a suspected encampment question.

I have a spot here in Ky that I have always thought would have been an excellent site for an Indian camp. It is a field covered in fescue and has not been plowed in years. What would be the best way to check the field for evidence?

I've read about test holes.  An archeologist digs a series of spaced holes about two x two x two and screens the dirt.  Dig a few and see what you find if the land owner doesn't mind.  Report back if you find anything.  We'd love to see . ES

Try test holes first and agree with Kayakaddict, if digging is legal in Kentucky.
      Another alternative, Deep Plow!
      Hope you find some artifacts.
