  • Rock Art?

I've seen quite a bit of art created using broken artifacts, rocks etc.
From wall art to lamps to jewelry. Very creative ideas for display.
Here is two of my creations for the well dressed rear view mirror :-)

    They're strange - I like 'em!
The 1st one is my favorite.
If the women don\'t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

cool! very creative,i like em'! dont know if this helps but if you heat up the wire its a little easier to bend and work around the tough spots.

The first one I made for my husband and includes a flake I found.
The other two I made/making for women friends.

Those are cool! But what your calling a flake may be a knife with the cortex still intact on one side. Need better pic's but it looks worked on the edge.
              Thanks for sharing your craft's.
Look to the ground for it holds the past!

Nice artwork! The wire looks a bit like a big hug on the rock. What guy wouldn't want to drive around sporting one? Or gal...
                    I enjoy twisting wire too!

Thank you! I acquired a book "Steel Wire Jewelry" by Brenda Schweder that inspired my Rearview Mirror decorations :-).
I like to tinker and create something out of the things I find that dont make it to a shadow box display so they aren't just sitting around.
And there are a lot of rocks and other treasures sitting around here!

Well wanted to tell you what I was calling a flake is what I think you were calling the cortex. Those are two different pieces. But you were right. After another examination of the second larger piece what I thought was a broken point does appear to be a knife. Nice catch! Thanks a lot!
